Soso Soberekon Loses $10,000 Bet to Zlatan Ibile After Spain’s Euro 2024 Victory
Nigerian music executive Soso Soberekon found himself $10,000 lighter after betting against singer Zlatan Ibile on the outcome of the UEFA Euro 2024 final. The dramatic match, held on Sunday night, saw Spain triumph over England with a 2-1 scoreline.
In a video shared on their Instagram pages, Soberekon and Zlatan were seen placing their bets, each staking $10,000. Soberekon backed England, while Zlatan put his money on Spain. Soberekon’s caption read: “10k dollars bet against @zlatan_ibile for England to win Spain!!! @poco_lee Me for England @zlatan_ibile for Spain!!! let’s go!!!”
Zlatan’s confidence paid off as Spain clinched their record fourth UEFA Euro title. Nico Williams and Mikel Oyarzabal were the heroes for Spain, with Williams opening the scoring. England’s Cole Palmer equalized in the second half, assisted by Jude Bellingham, but Oyarzabal’s late goal in the 86th minute secured the win for Spain at Berlin’s Olympiastadion.
After the match, a disappointed Soberekon posted a crying emoji on his Instagram story, acknowledging his lost bet and Spain’s victory.
