A UN International Organization for Migration (IOM) employee was killed in crossfire south of El Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan state.
In a statement, IOM Director General António Vitorino said:
I am deeply saddened by the death of our humanitarian colleague, and join his wife and new-born child, and our team in Sudan in mourning.
