Tems Wins Best African Music Performance at the 2025 Grammys

Nigerian music star Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has won the Best African Music Performance at the 2025 Grammy Awards for her hit single “Love Me JeJe.”

Tems triumphed over strong competition, including Burna Boy, Asake, and Wizkid’s collaboration “MMS,” as well as Yemi Alade and Davido’s feature on Chris Brown’s “Sensational.”

A Second Grammy for Tems

This latest win marks her second Grammy Award, further cementing her status as a global music sensation. Since 2020, Tems has collaborated with top artists such as Drake, Rihanna, and Beyoncé, gaining international recognition for her unique sound.

A Year of Milestones

Tems was the most nominated African artist at the 2025 Grammys, earning nods in three categories:

  • Best African Music Performance (Winner)
  • Best Global Music Album
  • Best R&B Song

Her debut studio album, “Born in the Wild,” released in 2024, has been a major success, with “Love Me JeJe” standing out as one of its biggest tracks.
