The Sudanese army has issued a warning that the country’s largest paramilitary group is mobilizing troops across the country.
The military accused the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of clearly breaking the law in a statement issued in the early hours of Thursday.
There is growing concern that the two sides will clash.
When Sudan’s army seized power in 2021, the RSF leader, Mohamed Hamdan “Hemeti” Dagolo, played a critical role.
Leaders failed to meet a deadline to form a civilian-led government this week.
Disagreements between rival military factions have been blamed for the breakdown of the talks.
