Charli D’Amelio, a social media star, has added a new job to her ever-expanding resume: the co-host of the Kids’ Choice Awards. D’Amelio and “CBS Mornings” co-host Nate Burleson will co-host the show on March 4 at 7 p.m. ET.

It is an honor for D’Amelio to be a co-host this year, and she is most looking forward to seeing some “intense slimings.”

“That’s obviously the show’s highlight,” D’Amelio said.

D’Amelio has received two Kids’ Choice Awards, one for Favorite Female Social Star in 2021 and another for Favorite Female Creator in 2022. This year, she’s up for Favorite Female Creator yet again.

“It’s so special to be recognized alongside people I adore and all of my fellow social creators,” she said.

She is considered one of TikTok’s biggest stars, with over 150 million followers and over 1 billion video likes. D’Amelio’s rise to fame began in 2019 when her friends introduced her to TikTok so she could learn and teach the viral dance videos.

“It just snowballed from there, and all of these incredible things started to happen,” she said.

Her overnight success led to a music and business career. She also secured brand partnerships with Dunkin’ Donuts, Amazon, and Prada. She and her sister, Dixie, launched the “Social Tourist” clothing line in 2021. D’Amelio said her family and hometown friends keep her grounded even as she achieves success outside of social media.

“It’s always good to have a conversation with people who aren’t as much in this world to just say, ‘Hey, we love you for you.'” “I think that’s very unique,” she said.

D’Amelio expressed hope that her family will be able to participate in one of the award show’s highest honors.

“I hope they get slimed because I’m bringing them there and just watching them [get slimed]would be a dream come true,” she explained.
