A Sierra Leone court has ruled that the main opposition candidate for the June presidential election must stand trial on corruption charges.
Three days ago, Samura Kamara was chosen as the All People’s Congress candidate.
He has denied any wrongdoing and claims that the case is political in nature.

Former President Ernest Bai Koroma appointed Mr. Kamara as the finance and foreign affairs minister.
The trial is set to start next month.
The current president, Julius Maada Bio, is planning to run for re-election.
The opposition APC has called his anti-corruption campaign a witch hunt against the party.
