According to President Muhammadu Buhari, after the Warri refinery rehabilitation works are finished, petroleum production would begin before the first half of 2023. This was announced in a statement released on Thursday in Abuja by Mr. Femi Adesina, the President’s Special Advisor on Media and Publicity.

He claims that when the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd and Daewoo Group for the renovation of the Kaduna refinery was signed, President Muhammadu Buhari expressed his happiness.

The signing, according to him, followed ongoing restoration work by the same Daewoo Group of South at the Warri refinery, so the president was quite thrilled about that.

“Daewoo Group has huge investments in the automotive, maritime, and other areas of our economy,” Buhari was cited by Adesina as stating.

“I am also aware that Daewoo is now working on building seagoing LPG tankers for NNPC and her partners as well as completing the NLNG Train Seven project.”

“I eagerly anticipated the completion of ongoing projects, particularly at the refineries in Kaduna and Warri, as well as the NLNG Train Seven. Without a sure, this will give Daewoo and other Korean businesses in Nigeria a lot more opportunities.
