The Tiny Desk welcomes Da Baddest Bitch.

Trina took a trip down memory lane while performing for the NPR concert series, 25 years after her debut. With the help of her band, which included a bassist, keyboardist, and background vocalist, she reinvented some of her biggest hits from her legendary career.

The rap legend began her 15-minute set with “Mama,” a song dedicated to her late mother, who died of cancer in 2019. “There would be no me without her,” Trina explained. “She is the reason I’m here right now.”

Then it was time to turn things up as Trina performed “Da Baddest Bitch,” the title track from her debut album, from 2000.

“I’d like to introduce you to the baddest bitch,” Trina told the audience. “The original baddest baddest bitch.”

Trina was back on the scene in 2007 with her single “Single Again,” which was dedicated to all the single ladies. Then came “Here We Go,” a breakup anthem featuring Kelly Rowland that Trina described as “the biggest song of her career.”

But she saved the best for last, finishing her five-song medley with “Nann Ni**a,” as her band assisted in reviving the hip-hop classic.
