A distressing incident unfolded on Thursday, January 18, when suspected kidnappers invaded the Nigeria Post Army Estate in Abuja, resulting in the abduction of two individuals. The victims, identified as the wife and an in-law of Barrister Cyril Adikwu, were taken during the incursion that occurred around 10:00 p.m. in the Phase 2 area of the estate.
A resident of the area, Austine John, shared the unsettling experience, recounting the invaders’ entrance into the estate with sporadic gunfire. Adikwu managed to escape, but the two unfortunate victims were seized by the kidnappers. The events unfolded rapidly, prompting a heightened sense of fear among residents throughout the night.
John described the tense atmosphere and the swift response initiated by the estate’s management, along with the subsequent arrival of army personnel. The traumatizing ordeal left residents on edge, with security measures being implemented to address the immediate threat.
