Two Rafale fighter jets collided in midair and crashed in northeastern France on Wednesday, according to both civil and military sources.

The incident happened near Colombey-les-Belles, a town in the region. The two jets, which were based at Saint-Dizier air base, were involved in the accident.

One of the pilots managed to eject safely, but the search continues for the instructor and student pilot from the second aircraft, who are still missing.

Authorities are actively working to locate the missing crew members.
