Vanessa Hudgens, the actress from “High School Musical,” is showing off her engagement ring for the first time, just a week after rumors of her engagement to Colorado Rockies player Cole Tucker first surfaced.
Hudgens, 34, posted an Instagram photo of herself and Tucker, 26, in front of the Eiffel Tower on Thursday.
“YES,” she wrote in the caption. “We couldn’t be more pleased.”
The couple’s engagement was first reported by People Magazine on February 3, with other reports claiming they got engaged at the end of last year. The news comes just over two years after dating rumors first surfaced between the two.
Hudgens revealed on CBS’ The Drew Barrymore Show in 2021 how she met Tucker, a former Diamondbacks player who now has a minor-league contract with the Colorado Rockies. Hudgens claims the two met on Zoom.
“It’s so strange… I still can’t believe it happened,” Hudgens said, adding that she had “given up” dating for a while before they met.
But then, while working on the film “Tick, Tick… Boom!”, a friend introduced her to a Zoom meditation group, which reportedly included other actors and singers Joe Jonas and Wilmer Valderrama.
“In the group chat, there’s a GIF of a baseball player sliding onto a base. And because I thought it was a joke, I just said, ‘Hot.’ Then I get on the Zoom and wonder, ‘Who is that?’ And I found him, and we started talking, and yeah, it’s crazy that we met over Zoom.”

“If I want something or someone, I’m going to get it,” she added. “I just slid into his DMs and said, ‘hey, it was nice meeting you.'” So I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being the first to make a move.”
