The presidency has reassured Nigerians that President Bola Tinubu’s administration remains focused on improving the lives of everyone living in the country.

Dada Olusegun, the President’s Special Assistant on Social Media, shared the update on Monday while highlighting several major programmes the government plans to roll out in 2026. He described the year as one that will shape Nigeria’s direction for decades.

Olusegun encouraged Nigerians to stay committed to the Renewed Hope vision, noting that the coming reforms are designed to strengthen the nation’s foundation.

Among the key initiatives expected next year are new tax reforms, the recapitalization of commercial banks, the national census, and several other structural programmes.

Highlights of the proposed 2026 initiatives include:

– Introduction of the new Tax Reform Acts, aimed at boosting Nigeria’s economic competitiveness and expanding the country’s revenue sources.

– Full recapitalization of commercial banks, giving them greater strength to support the economy and scale up the Consumer Credit Scheme, allowing more citizens access to everyday credit.

– Recapitalization of the Bank of Agriculture to improve access to funding for farmers and reinforce agriculture as a major pillar of the economy.

– A nationwide census using enhanced data-capture tools such as facial recognition, thumbprints, and voice identification to produce accurate population figures and improve planning across sectors.

– Complete shift from paper-based processes in the civil service to a digital, automated system designed to improve transparency and service delivery.

– Activation of business operations for the newly established Regional Development Commissions.

Olusegun added that these reforms, along with other programmes scheduled for next year, will set the country on a better path and shape the lives of generations to come.

He urged Nigerians to remain confident in the administration’s direction and stay focused on the long-term goals.

He concluded with a message of encouragement, noting that although challenges may arise, the government is determined to overcome them and deliver on its Renewed Hope agenda.
