Bobrisky’s Lawyer Explains Absence from House of Representatives Hearing

Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, recently missed his scheduled appearance before the House of Representatives, prompting his lawyer, Avwerosuoghene Omuvwie, to clarify the situation. Bobrisky was called to address serious allegations regarding claims of bribery involving officials from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He was accused of attempting to influence the EFCC to drop money laundering charges against him and to sway the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS) to avoid incarceration.

The allegations were brought to light by social media activist Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan. When Bobrisky failed to appear, his attorney informed the lawmakers that his client was unwell, leading the House to request medical documentation to validate this claim.

In a related development, VeryDarkMan shared how he acquired a controversial phone recording related to Bobrisky. According to him, the recording came from an individual to whom Bobrisky reportedly owes money. He revealed, “I obtained the recording after Bobrisky blackmailed someone he borrowed money from. The person lent him N4 million while he was in EFCC detention or staying in a private location. The transaction occurred on June 19, 2024.”

As the situation unfolds, the public remains keenly interested in both Bobrisky’s health and the ongoing developments in this intriguing case.
