Nigerian artist Spyro, also known as Oludipe Oluwasanmi, recently opened up on Instagram about a personal experience that led to an unexpected dislike for Canada.

Spyro was deeply involved in a relationship with a woman residing in Canada. They seemed to be on track for a serious commitment, with Spyro even considering proposing. However, a seemingly innocuous incident changed everything. His girlfriend came across a photo or video showing Spyro receiving a friendly peck on the cheek from a female fan. This harmless gesture caused a significant rift, ultimately resulting in an abrupt breakup.

The breakup left Spyro feeling wounded and disillusioned. He found himself associating his heartbreak with Canada, where his ex-girlfriend lived. This negative association grew into a strong aversion toward the entire country. In fact, Spyro postponed a planned tour of Canada because he was still grappling with the emotional aftermath.

In his candid Instagram post, Spyro confessed:

“Canada, I need to be transparent today… I delayed this tour because I was still healing from a painful breakup with one of your women. It hurt deeply as I envisioned a future with her… I even bought a ring. However, she abruptly ended things when she learned about the innocent peck on my cheek from a friend, a gesture of gratitude after I helped her. I thought honesty would strengthen us, but it led to our downfall. Since then, I harbored resentment toward Canada, but now I’ve healed, thanks to my pastor’s guidance. It’s time to move forward.”

Spyro expressed his readiness to overcome the past and embrace his upcoming tour of Canada with enthusiasm.

In a lighthearted tone, Spyro also playfully encouraged his female fans in Canada to dress their best for his shows, hinting at the possibility of finding love amidst the crowd.

He playfully added:

“Hey ladies, I’m not just touring; I’m searching for beauty amidst the chaos. So, my lovely ladies, dress to impress! Who knows, I might find my missing piece in the crowd. And guess what? I won’t be wearing shades during performances, so I can see you clearly. See you all from June 14th!”
