Nigerian rapper, Tochukwu Ojogwu, also known as Odumodublvck, believes that artists like Wizkid and Burna Boy achieved their success through inspiration and divine providence, rejecting the idea that they were beneficiaries of paved paths by any musician.

In a recent podcast interview, veteran singer Eedris Abdulkareem claimed that he paved the way for Davido, Burna Boy, Wizkid, and other Nigerian artists.

In response, Odumodublvck described the statement as an attempt to appropriate “God’s glory,” stressing that Wizkid and Burna Boy’s success came from their own hard work and determination. He added that while artists can inspire each other, only God can truly pave the way to success.

On his social media handle, Odumodublvck wrote: “Everybody claims to pave the way. Everybody is trying to claim God’s glory. None of you guys paved the way for anyone.

“Nobody paved the way for Wizkid or Burna [Boy]. They hustled. Each of us has our own struggles and realities.

“Inspired? Yes. Paved the way? That’s God. No human being in the history of music has paved the way for Odumodublvck. That’s God. So, tomorrow, let no OG come and say he paved the way for me, because, bros, you weren’t there when I was in the thick of it! So keep quiet, sir.”
