Yulia Navalnaya, known for her activism, faced a brief suspension of her X account – previously Twitter – a day after she pledged to continue her late husband’s advocacy work.
In a video posted on Monday, she vowed to carry on Alexei Navalny’s mission for a “free Russia” following his tragic death in a Russian prison.
Her account became inaccessible to users on Tuesday afternoon, with X stating that it was mistakenly blocked due to a system error in their defense mechanism against manipulation and spam.
An official statement from X’s safety account acknowledged the error and reinstated her account promptly, promising updates to their defense system.
Yulia Navalnaya, who maintained a low profile during her husband’s activism, joined X on Monday and shared a video accusing Russian authorities of withholding vital information about Alexei Navalny’s death. The Kremlin refuted the accusation, emphasizing that an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his passing was underway.
Her emotional video resonated widely, garnering substantial attention and support from users across the platform. Since its inception, her account has garnered over 100,000 followers.
As per X’s guidelines, accounts may be suspended for various reasons, including spam, abuse, or potential security risks.
