Media personality Toke Makinwa has weighed in on the alleged split between Afrobeats icon, Innocent “2baba” Idibia, and his wife of 12 years, Annie Idibia. The drama unfolded after 2baba announced the separation on Instagram this past Sunday, revealing that the couple had been living apart for some time and that he had filed for divorce.

In his post, 2baba shared, “Hello my beautiful people of all federation. Well, this thing I have to say short but also long… I and Annie Macauley have been separated for a while now, and currently filed for divorce.” He added, “I would grant a press release soon to say my story. Not because it is anyone’s right to know about my personal life, but because I love my people and I want them to know my innocence or offense. Stay blessed my people.”

Reacting strongly to 2baba’s public declaration, Toke Makinwa expressed her disapproval of the singer’s decision to air personal matters on social media. She took to social media herself, posting, “This is wrong on all levels and you should be ashamed of yourself for bringing this here.” Makinwa didn’t hold back, further stating, “Bring it on, if you think she’s alone, let me tell you here that you’ll have to fight all of us.”

In her passionate defense, Toke urged other women to stand up for Annie and support her during this difficult time.
