Former South African President Jacob Zuma remains committed to attending a disciplinary hearing with the African National Congress (ANC) on Tuesday, despite the party’s earlier announcement of its cancellation.

Last Thursday, Zuma was summoned by the ANC’s National Disciplinary Committee regarding his affiliation with the newly-established uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party, of which he now leads, despite his ongoing membership with the ANC.

Initially, the ANC had deferred the meeting, citing security concerns, as reported earlier.

On Monday, an ANC spokesperson confirmed to the BBC that the meeting had been called off. However, a spokesperson for MK stated that Zuma intends to be present at Luthuli House at 10 am on Tuesday.
