President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed strong confidence in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his running mate Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, believing they can meet the expectations of Ghanaians.
Speaking at the unveiling of Dr. Opoku Prempeh at the Manhyia Palace on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, Nana Addo praised both men for their dedication and strong work ethic.
He said, “I trust and believe in their ability to do the job. Having worked with them, I know they are up to the task. On December 7th, when Ghanaians give them the mandate, they will meet the expectations of Ghana.”
The NPP introduced Dr. Opoku Prempeh, commonly known as Napo, as Dr. Bawumia’s running mate for the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections. The ceremony took place at Kumasi Jubilee Park in the Ashanti Region, the party’s stronghold.
The event saw attendance from prominent party figures, including President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the Council of Elders, Members of Parliament, and other key members.
Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh assured NPP members and supporters that he would assist Dr. Bawumia in leading a strong 2024 campaign to secure victory.
Meanwhile, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Minister Stephen Asamoah Boateng (Asabee) called on all party members and supporters to back Dr. Bawumia’s selection.
