Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has denied claims that she arrested the mother of an X user, a story that has been spreading on social media.
The X user alleged that Toyin had his mother detained at Panti police station over accusations of bullying, despite not having any online interactions with the actress.
In a post on her X handle, Toyin clarified that she never arrested the user’s mother. She explained that she reported a case of cybercrime to protect her children from insults.
“You can insult and call me names, that’s fine. I will accept it because I’m in the public eye. But cursing my kids and lying is something I won’t tolerate. I never arrested anyone’s mother. I filed a report on cybercrime as a concerned citizen,” she wrote.
Toyin further explained, “I reported the cybercrime because the threats and curses directed at my family were too much. Insult me all you want, but leave my family out of it.”
The X user responded, “You made a tweet and then had my mom arrested. She was picked up from her shop and taken to Panti police station for something I didn’t even do. God will judge you.”
Toyin replied, “The world won’t see the truth if I react. I never arrested your mom. Your friend Ayo was arrested for bullying, cursing, and defaming my family. Your mom went to the station and refused to leave without him.”
