Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, has expressed openness to working with other politicians for the 2027 elections. In an interview with News Central, Obi revealed his willingness to collaborate with figures like former NNPP presidential candidate Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, provided the focus remains on benefiting the public rather than merely winning elections.
Obi emphasized that any potential partnership should prioritize lifting people out of poverty and addressing critical issues like education for out-of-school children. He firmly stated that he would not support collaborations aimed solely at political power or electoral success.
When asked about the possibility of serving as a vice president, Obi indicated that he is willing to step into that role if someone else is better suited for the job, asserting that his main goal is to see Nigeria thrive, rather than simply becoming President.
He also confirmed his commitment to the Labour Party, stating that he has no plans to leave and will only consider collaboration if the objectives align with his vision for improving Nigeria.
