Today, we’re celebrating the wonderful impact of social media, especially in fostering meaningful connections, just like it did for Rahila and Posi.

Despite having mutual friends, their paths had never crossed until ten years ago when Rahila shared something on Twitter and Posi responded. This sparked a friendship that blossomed over the years, eventually leading to an inseparable bond. Their journey culminated in a heartfelt exchange of vows during a beautiful white wedding ceremony, overflowing with love and beauty.

They also honored their respective Ga’anda and Yoruba roots with a vibrant traditional wedding ceremony. Their union showcased a beautiful blend of love, family, and rich culture, evident in every frame of their stunning wedding photos.

Enjoy their wedding photos and love story below:

How we met
By the bride, Rahila:

Meeting Posi felt like destiny unfolding before my eyes. While we had always been aware of each other’s existence and even shared mutual friends, it wasn’t until August 2014 that our journey truly commenced. It all began with a tweet – I posted something on Twitter, and a mutual friend of ours engaged with it, catching Posi’s attention. This led to our first informal interaction, and later that day, Posi took the initiative to reach out to me through direct messages.

What made our conversation so effortless was our shared circle of friends and the fact that Posi had recently started attending the same church as me. This common ground provided a solid foundation for our budding friendship, and it felt like the universe was gently nudging us together. From that moment on, I knew our connection was something truly special.

As time passed, our bond deepened, evolving from mere friendship to something more meaningful. Surprisingly, we found ourselves confiding in each other about our relationships, offering advice and support along the way. However, it wasn’t until December 2015, when Posi went on a holiday abroad, that things took a different turn.

During his time away, we found ourselves communicating more frequently than ever before. Our conversations became the highlight of my day, and I eagerly anticipated each interaction. It was during this period that I began to realize my feelings for Posi had transcended friendship. To my surprise, I later learned that Posi had harbored feelings for me all along, leaving me feeling like I had arrived late to the realization.

In January 2016, we decided to take the plunge and officially become a couple. With each passing day, our relationship blossomed, and we cherished every moment shared together. Then, on New Year’s Day in 2023, amidst the romantic backdrop of Paris, Posi made a heartfelt proposal, asking me to spend forever by his side. It was a magical start to the year, marking the beginning of our lifelong journey together.

Our story exemplifies the power of friendship, perfect timing, and enduring love. It serves as a reminder that sometimes the most extraordinary connections are formed when we least expect them. We are immensely grateful for every twist and turn that led us to this moment, and we eagerly anticipate the next chapter of our journey as husband and wife.
