In the murder trial of XXXTentacion, Drake won’t be deposed.
A previous court order required Drake to appear in person and answer questions about his 2017 feud with the late rapper, but the judge has now granted Drake’s motion to avoid a deposition.
Dedrick Williams’ defense lawyer, Mauricio Padilla, convinced the judge that Drake needed to be deposed because he might have had a reason for killing X.
During the opening statements of the trial, Padilla informed the jury that “Before X passed away, he said, ‘If anybody kills me, it’s Drake.'” “Do you believe that any detective has ever asked Drake or anyone else like that while sitting here years later?” No.”

Drake was the cause of XXXTentacion’s death, the rapper once claimed on Instagram. Later, he claimed to have been hacked and deleted the post.
In an Instagram Story, X wrote: “IF ANYBODY TRIES TO KILL ME IT WAS @champagnepapi IM SNITCHING RN.”
On February 24, Drake was supposed to be removed via Zoom. Drake has no pertinent information to add to the case, according to his attorney Bradford Cohen, and the judge ultimately agreed, according to TMZ.
There is no proof connecting Drake to X’s murder, according to the prosecution, which claims that the shooting was the result of a botched robbery. Even so, Padilla might succeed in persuading the judge that Drake needs to be removed for yet another reason.
On June 18, 2018, XXXTentacion was fatally shot after leaving Riva Motorsports in Fort Lauderdale. Williams is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting, along with Michael Boatwright and Trayvon Newsome. All three men risk life in prison if found guilty.
