Each one will fight for having their children’s custody.

Christine Baumgartner, the wife of actor Kevin Costner, has filed for divorce after 18 years of marriage. Baumgartner filed for divorce on Monday, citing “irreconcilable differences” and asking for joint custody of their three children: Cayden, 15, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 12.

She did not, however, seek spousal support because the couple had a prenuptial agreement in place. In a statement, Costner’s representative said, “It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired, resulting in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action.”

On Tuesday, Costner responded to his estranged wife’s petition by requesting joint custody of their children. The couple began dating in 1999, and after a brief breakup in 2003, they reunited and married the following year in Aspen, Colorado.

Cayden, Hayes, and Grace are their three children. Costner is also the father of three children from his previous marriage to Cindy Costner: Annie, Lily, and Joe.

Costner is amid Yellowstone drama

The divorce comes on the heels of reports that the hit TV show “Yellowstone,” in which Costner stars, may be canceled after the fifth season due to disagreements between Costner and creator Taylor Sheridan.

Despite the rumors, a production source told The New York Post that the problem was being worked out and that Costner would return for the remaining episodes.

“It’s too big a show for things to go wrong.” If everyone works together, Kevin may return for the remaining episodes, but it appears that ‘Yellowstone’ will end after this season,” the source said.

The couple has yet to issue a public statement regarding their divorce, and it is unknown what caused their split.
