Despite being knocked out in the fifth round of Saturday’s IBF heavyweight match at Wembley, former two-time champion Anthony Joshua is expected to earn significantly more than his opponent, Daniel Dubois.

According to reports from Sporty Salaries via GB News, Joshua was guaranteed £6 million just for stepping into the ring, with his total earnings possibly reaching £25 million, depending on pay-per-view sales.

Dubois, who pulled off a stunning upset by knocking Joshua out, was guaranteed £3.5 million, with his potential earnings rising to £10 million.

Joshua’s higher payout reflects his status and massive following in the boxing world, despite this being his fourth career loss. The fight drew a record crowd, with more than 98,000 fans packing Wembley Stadium.

After the fight, Joshua addressed his supporters via Instagram, expressing gratitude and sharing his determination to keep going, despite calls for him to retire. He said, “We came up short, but we have to focus on the positives. Look at what we’ve achieved in 11 years. It’s been a rollercoaster, but it’s far from over.”

Dubois’ victory now places him among the top heavyweights, potentially setting up big future matches against Tyson Fury, Oleksandr Usyk, or even a rematch with Joshua.
