Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard could be out for up to three weeks due to an ankle injury, according to Norway’s team doctor, Ola Sand.
While initial scans suggest no fracture in his left ankle, the doctor indicated that Odegaard’s recovery is expected to take at least three weeks, possibly longer.
“An injury like this typically takes a minimum of three weeks to heal, and anything faster would be a bonus,” Sand told Norwegian newspaper VG. “The MRI from London shows no sign of a fracture, but it’s still an injury that requires time. If it had been a fracture, we’d be looking at more than six weeks.”
The 25-year-old midfielder picked up the injury during Norway’s UEFA Nations League match against Austria on September 9. After returning to London, Odegaard underwent further tests, with manager Mikel Arteta expected to provide updates in his Friday press conference.
If Odegaard is out for the full three weeks, he would miss several key games, including the Champions League clash against Atalanta and Premier League matches against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.
