According to the UN, approximately 100,000 people have fled into Ethiopia from the self-proclaimed republic of Somaliland in the last month.

Many others have been internally displaced as a result of fighting in the disputed city of Las Anod, which has killed over 200 people.

According to the UN, the refugees have gathered in Ethiopia’s Doolo region, which is experiencing its worst drought in four decades.

It takes two days of driving for aid workers to reach the refugees who are taking refuge in public buildings or sleeping on the streets.
