President Bola Tinubu addressed the nation on Tuesday in celebration of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary. During his speech, the President revealed that his administration will soon unveil the list of individuals set to receive national honours for 2024.
In a notable highlight, Tinubu announced that Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, have both been awarded the prestigious Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON).
Additionally, Tinubu mentioned that the Deputy Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives have been honoured with the Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) title, while the Deputy Speaker of the House has received the Commander of the Order of Niger (CON).
“As is customary, the full list of national honours recipients for 2024 will be made public soon,” the President said, emphasizing the importance of recognizing distinguished citizens for their contributions to the nation.
