Borussia Dortmund won 1st leg with a goal from Karim Adeyemi

Chelsea will play Borussia Dortmund in the Round of 16-second leg on Tuesday, hoping to advance to the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals.

Danny Makkelie of the Netherlands has been appointed as the match’s referee, and the game will begin at 2000 GMT at Stamford Bridge.

“After this game, we want to be among the eight most successful teams in Europe this season,” Dortmund coach Edin Terzic said at a press conference.

Terzic also provided an update on the health of goalie Gregor Kobel. “For the past two days, Gregor has been receiving treatment in Dortmund. Every day he feels better. We’ll work with him and decide whether or not he can play after the session.”

Chelsea manager Graham Potter, for his part, described the game as “big and exciting.”

“We’re thinking positively and trying to win the game. They are a top opponent and are in fantastic form, consistently winning games “Potter elaborated.

Borussia Dortmund won the first leg at Signal Iduna Park thanks to a goal from Karim Adeyemi.

On Tuesday, Benfica will host Club Brugge at Estadio da Luz in another last-16 second-leg match. The Portuguese club advanced to the quarterfinals with a 2-0 victory over the Belgian team.

The 2022/23 Champions League final will be held on June 10 at Istanbul’s Ataturk Olympic Stadium.
