Chris Brown has pleaded not guilty to additional charges linked to an alleged altercation at a London nightclub in 2023.

Appearing in Southwark Crown Court on Friday, the American R&B artist faced a packed gallery filled with fans, some of whom called out their support as the hearing ended. Brown responded with a wave and a kiss, clearly moved by the show of loyalty during his ongoing legal troubles.

The singer, currently on an international tour, is facing accusations of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon — reportedly a bottle — in a public setting. He stood beside co-defendant Omololu Akinlolu, a fellow American, who also pleaded not guilty to similar charges.

The case centers on an alleged incident that took place on February 19, 2023, at Tape, a high-end private club in London’s Hanover Square. According to the allegations, a victim was attacked with a bottle and then reportedly chased, punched, and kicked.

Last month, Brown also denied a separate, more serious charge of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.

Brown was arrested earlier this year at a luxury hotel in Manchester, just hours after arriving in the UK by private jet. He spent several days in custody before being released on £5 million bail. As part of his release terms, he’s allowed to continue his tour, which kicked off on June 8 in Amsterdam, but risks losing the full bail amount if he fails to return for court proceedings.

The trial for both Brown and Akinlolu is scheduled to begin in October 2026.
