The Coroner’s Court in Ikorodu, Lagos, has called for criminal charges to be brought against auxiliary nurse Feyisayo Ogedengbe in connection with the death of Nigerian artist Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad.
Following months of public outcry and speculation, the Lagos State Government launched a formal inquest to investigate the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s passing. On Friday, July 11, 2025, Magistrate C.A. Shotobi delivered the court’s findings.
The court concluded that while Mohbad’s death was not the result of foul play or homicide, the nurse’s role in the tragedy could not be overlooked. Ogedengbe, the court found, administered an injection without proper medical authorization—an act described as both unlawful and grossly negligent.
Magistrate Shotobi stated, “This court, acting under Section 29 of the Coroner Laws of Lagos State, recommends that the Director of Public Prosecution pursue legal action against Feyisayo Ogedengbe for unlawful medical practice and professional misconduct.”
Mohbad’s death had left fans and the public with many unanswered questions. This ruling, while not confirming foul play, signals a step toward accountability in a case that has stirred emotions across the country.
