Dwyane Wade, Becky Hammon, and Gregg Popovich are other headliners of the 2023 class.

Dirk Nowitzki, Tony Parker, Pau Gasol, Dwyane Wade, Becky Hammon, and Gregg Popovich are among the 2023 class’s headliners, according to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

“This is basketball heaven,” Wade said of the news.

Nowitzki, Parker, Gasol, and Wade have combined for 95,092 points, 39 All-Star appearances, and ten NBA championships.

Hammon, the head coach of the WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces, is also a six-time All-Star.

Popovich has the most wins of any NBA coach in history, with five NBA titles and an Olympic gold medal in the 2021 Tokyo Games.

“To be honest, I always thought the Hall of Fame was for Red Holzman, Red Auerbach, Larry Bird, and Magic Johnson.” “To be honest, I’ve never felt like I belonged,” Popovich said. “I’m not trying to be ‘Mr. Humble’ or anything.” I’m in Division III. “I’m not going to the Hall of Fame.”

Other Hall of Fame nominees includes former North Carolina State coach Jim Valvano, the 1976 US Olympic women’s basketball team, former Purdue coach Gene Keady, former Texas A&M women’s coach Gary Blair, longtime Division III Amherst coach David Hixon, and Gene Bess, who won 1,300 games as a junior college coach at Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

The shortlisted players and coaches will be honored at ceremonies in Connecticut and Massachusetts on August 11 and 12.
