Nollywood star Eniola Badmus has spoken out against a troubling message shared by a social media influencer, who used their platform to wish death on an unnamed political figure.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Badmus voiced her disappointment, urging Nigerians to rise above political differences and hold on to their shared humanity.
“It’s painful to see anyone, especially someone with influence, use their voice to wish death on another person,” she wrote. “No matter our political views, hate should never become our default. We are better than this. If we truly want change, it must come through honest conversation and unity—not through threats or toxicity. Let’s choose decency over division.”
Elsewhere, activist Adetoun Onajobi also weighed in on national issues following the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari. In a viral video, she questioned why a leader who repeatedly promised to improve Nigeria’s health system ended up receiving treatment—and eventually dying—abroad.
Adetoun didn’t mince words. She pointed out the irony of billions being spent on overseas medical trips for top officials, while everyday Nigerians are left to struggle in poorly equipped hospitals.
For her, the late president’s actions reflected a lack of faith in the very system he once vowed to fix.
