The Board of Directors of Twitter has been disbanded, four days after Elon Musk bought the social media business.
According to Business Insider, the corporation informed the US Security and Exchange Commission of the decision in a paper.
“On October 27, 2022, and as a result of the consummation of the Merger, Mr. Musk became the sole director of Twitter,” the filing, which was made public on Monday, stated in part.
The following individuals, who were directors of Twitter prior to the effective time of the merger, are no longer directors of Twitter, in accordance with the terms of the merger agreement, effective as of the effective time of the merger: Bret Taylor, Parag Agrawal, Omid Kordestani, David Rosenblatt, Martha Lane Fox, Patrick Pichette, Egon Durban, Fei-Fei Li, and Mimi Alemayehou.
The billionaire has been making changes to the business since Musk declared on Thursday that he had assumed full control of Twitter.
Musk’s first action was to fire top executives from the company, including former CEO Parag Agrawal, hours after the deal was formally closed. Ned Segal, the chief financial officer, Vijaya Gadde, the chief legal officer, and Sean Edgett, the general counsel, were all fired.
