Tomas Rosicky, former Arsenal midfielder and current sporting director of Sparta Prague, faced a serious health scare last week after being admitted to the hospital with heart-related complications.

Sparta Prague shared the news in a statement on Monday, May 26, revealing that Rosicky had been taken to intensive care on Tuesday for close monitoring and tests.

Thankfully, after careful medical evaluation, doctors determined that surgery wasn’t necessary — a huge relief for the club, his family, and fans who have followed his journey from the pitch to the boardroom.

The club’s statement read:
“Tomas Rosicky was unexpectedly admitted to intensive care last Tuesday due to heart issues. Thankfully, his condition did not require surgery. Out of respect for Tomas and his family, no further details will be disclosed. He has our full support — we’re all with him.”

Until now, only a handful of those closest to Rosicky and the club were aware of what he was going through. Now, with the situation stable and Tomas back home recovering, Sparta Prague is encouraging supporters to send their love and positive energy his way.

“Given how sensitive this situation has been, we waited to share the update until he was safely home. We appreciate everyone’s understanding and support,” the club added.

At 44, Rosicky remains a respected figure in football — not just for his legacy on the field, but also for his leadership behind the scenes. His recovery is good news for all who admire his strength, both in sport and in life.
