Former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves has voiced doubts about Arsenal’s ability to secure the UEFA Champions League title this season. According to Hargreaves, Arsenal faces two main challenges that could hinder their progress.

Firstly, Hargreaves pointed out the team’s relative inexperience at the Champions League level. Apart from a few seasoned players like Jorginho and Gabriel Jesus, the majority of the squad is new to the intense pressures of this elite competition. He believes this lack of experience could be a significant barrier to their success.

Secondly, Hargreaves expressed concerns about Arsenal’s squad depth. He noted that the team might struggle to maintain the high standards required for a successful Champions League campaign. He referenced Paris Saint-Germain, who, despite substantial investments, have yet to clinch the coveted title.

Hargreaves acknowledged Arsenal’s potential for success in other tournaments but cautioned that the fierce competition in the Champions League, combined with their current lack of depth, could pose a serious challenge.

“I think they’re quite inexperienced at this level,” Hargreaves told TNT Sports. “Aside from a few players like Jorginho and Gabriel Jesus, most haven’t had much experience in the Champions League.”

He added, “Winning the Champions League is tough—look at PSG, who’ve spent billions without winning it. Arsenal are improving and will win trophies, but the competition is getting tougher, and their lack of depth might hold them back.”

Arsenal’s last Champions League campaign ended in disappointment, as they were eliminated by Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals with a 3-2 aggregate score.
