Fivio Foreign surprised everyone today (May 31) with a new project titled Without Warning, which consists of eight songs and is available for streaming on Fivio’s SoundCloud and YouTube accounts. The standout single “Concussion,” a hard-hitting cut featuring past collaborator Kanye West, is sure to get people’s attention.
“Concussion,” produced by AyoAA, begins with an emotionally charged verse from Ye about triumphing over unknown forces, his faith, and more.
“They counted me out, gonna react, somethin’ all for cussin’, it only helps the percussion, it only helps the progression, it only made the aggression, it made me more aggressive, it made me more impressive, it made me feel the pressure, God made me feel the pressure, woke up out of pressure, I get it, I get it, I get it, there ain’t no time while I am alive, the only thing promised is death…”
Along with the new music, fans were treated to a documentary that depicts Fivio’s journey through interviews, performances, and studio sessions. In the 14-minute video, the drill leader explained why he decided to release a free project seemingly out of nowhere. Simply put, he found inspiration in prolific artists such as Lil Wayne and Drake.
“In their primes, when they were coming up and doing what they were doing, they were flooding, dropping a lot of music, mixtape [after]mixtape,” he explained. “I feel like if you drop a lot of music and are consistent, you get to be lit and big.” You’ve got to feed the people, fans, and n**gas who want to hear this s**t.”
