The 76th Emmy Awards took place in Los Angeles on Sunday, celebrating the best in American primetime television.

The Television Academy took to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday to congratulate the winners, stating, “Congratulations to all of tonight’s Emmy winners! Check out the full list and stream the 76th Emmys on @hulu. #Emmys #TelevisionAcademy.”

Since its inception in 1949 by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS), the Emmy Awards have honored exceptional achievements in television. They recognize talent across a range of categories, including acting, writing, directing, and technical skills, spanning genres like drama, comedy, and limited series.

The Emmys are divided into two main ceremonies: the Primetime Emmys and the Creative Arts Emmys. These awards not only celebrate outstanding performances and productions but also enhance the prestige of both shows and their creators.

This year’s ceremony saw FX’s “Shogun” making headlines by setting a new record with 18 Emmys, including wins for Best Drama, Best Actor, and Best Actress. HBO’s “Hacks” surprised many with its win for Best Comedy Series, while Netflix’s “Baby Reindeer” took home the award for Best Limited Series.

The Governor’s Award was presented to Greg Berlanti by Matt Bomer and Joshua Jackson during the event.

Hosted by Eugene and Dan Levy, the 76th annual Emmys were broadcast live on ABC from Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater.
