Governor Adeleke Commends IGP Egbetokun, Calls for Fair Investigation into Akinlalu Killings

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has praised the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for the swift action taken following the recent tragic killings in Akinlalu.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Malam Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke expressed his appreciation for the ongoing investigation while emphasizing the need for due process and strict adherence to the rule of law.

He assured the police of the state government’s full cooperation and extended his condolences to the victims and their families.

Governor Adeleke reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that everyone involved in the incident faces justice, stressing that no one — regardless of status or influence — would be shielded from the consequences of their actions.

“There will be no sacred cows in this matter,” the Governor said. “Anyone found culpable, no matter how highly placed or connected, must face the full weight of the law.”

While calling for a fair and transparent investigation, Adeleke urged security agencies to protect innocent citizens and maintain peace throughout the process.

He further noted that justice must not only be served but must be seen to be done in order to uphold public trust and confidence.

“I will not tolerate any form of lawlessness, indiscipline, or impunity,” he added. “The law must take its full course, and all stakeholders — including the police, the Department of State Services (DSS), and Amotekun — must work together to preserve peace and order as investigations continue.”
