A Guinean court has found three doctors guilty in the death of a young woman who was raped in a hospital.

M’Mah Sylla died in Tunisia, where she had been evacuated for treatment after being raped, according to the government in 2021.

In Guinea, the case sparked widespread outrage.

Daniel and Patrice Lamah was sentenced to 15 years in prison by a court in Conakry, and a third doctor, Celestin Millimouna, who is on the run, was sentenced to 20 years.

They were all convicted of assault and battery, as well as performing an abortion.

Patrice Lamah and Millimouna were found guilty of rape as well.
