David Beckham’s Inter Miami team is reportedly interested in signing former Manchester United winger Angel Di Maria, who could join his fellow Argentine teammate Lionel Messi at the club. Di Maria, now 35 years old, had a brief and unsuccessful stint at Old Trafford after his £59.7 million transfer from Real Madrid in 2014. He spent just one season with Manchester United before moving on to Paris Saint-Germain.

Having most recently played for Italian giants Juventus, Di Maria’s contract is set to expire this summer. Inter Miami, owned by Beckham, is looking to secure his services on a free transfer, as per reports. Prior to his time at Manchester United, Di Maria enjoyed success in Portugal and Spain, winning league titles and the Champions League. He also won Ligue 1 five times with PSG.

Di Maria and Messi are not only teammates for the Argentine national team but also played pivotal roles in winning the World Cup in Qatar and Copa America in 2021. Now, there’s a possibility of them reuniting in Miami, especially after the news broke that Messi will be joining Inter Miami, turning down an offer from Saudi Arabia and dismissing previous rumors of a return to Barcelona.

In addition to pursuing Di Maria, Inter Miami is also in discussions to sign Messi’s former Barcelona teammate Sergio Busquets. The 34-year-old midfielder, who has spent his entire career at Barcelona, is also out of contract this summer and expected to leave on a free transfer. However, the American side faces competition from Saudi Arabian clubs Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal in their pursuit of Busquets.

It’s worth noting that Inter Miami recently parted ways with head coach Phil Neville following a disappointing run of results.
