Real Madrid is set to make history by competing in their first UEFA Champions League final in England, following their victory over Bayern Munich in Spain. This milestone will see Real Madrid stepping onto the Wembley Stadium pitch in London on June 1 to face Borussia Dortmund.

Despite their rich history in the Champions League, with 17 finals under their belt, Real Madrid has never contested a final on English soil. However, this record will be rewritten as they prepare for their highly anticipated showdown at Wembley.

In the semi-final clash against Bayern Munich, a team that boasts 11 appearances in the Champions League final, the first leg ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw in Germany. The tension continued in the second leg, with both sides unable to break the deadlock in the first half.

It wasn’t until the 68th minute that the Santiago Bernabéu erupted with excitement as Alphonso Davies, a second-half substitute, scored a stunning opener, curling the ball into the net from a tight angle.

Real Madrid’s coach, Carlo Ancelotti, made strategic changes, including the introduction of on-loan striker Joselu, who emerged as the hero of the night. In the 88th minute, the 34-year-old capitalized on a goalkeeper error by Manuel Neuer to score the equalizer.

In a dramatic turn of events, Joselu secured the match-winner just one minute into stoppage time, initially facing scrutiny for a potential offside before VAR intervened, confirming the goal’s validity.

With this thrilling 2-1 victory, Real Madrid advanced to the final of the 2023-2024 Champions League campaign, clinching a 4-3 aggregate win over Bayern Munich and setting the stage for an epic showdown against Borussia Dortmund.
