Anambra State police have made a grim discovery, finding three more bodies from the tragic boat accident involving a movie crew. Among the victims was Nollywood star Junior Pope Odonwodo.

Despite ongoing search efforts, some crew members remained missing until now. According to Anambra State Police Command spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga, the bodies were recovered over the past two days.

“These recent recoveries mark a solemn moment as the Marine Police of Anambra State Command retrieved the bodies of the remaining victims,” Ikenga stated in a Friday announcement.

The recovered bodies have been transferred to a morgue in Asaba, Delta State, with authorities notifying the Actors Guild of Nigeria about the development. Anambra State Police Commissioner Aderemi Adeoye emphasized the importance of safety for water commuters and assured that investigations into the accident are progressing swiftly.

The tragic incident has sparked outrage, particularly among Nigerians and fans of Nollywood. Many believe that proper safety measures could have averted this catastrophe during the filming of “Another Side of Life.”

In response to the outcry, the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has taken decisive action. AGN President Emeka Rollas announced a series of measures, including the indefinite suspension of movie shoots involving riverine areas and boat rides. Additionally, filmmaker Adamma Luke, associated with the ill-fated movie, has been suspended from working with actors until further notice.

As the search for the remaining victims continues, the AGN extends condolences, hoping for peace for the departed souls.
