The turmoil involving his son Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, is not something that King Charles III wants to get engaged in.
Tom Bower, a royal expert, spoke to Page Six following the release of Netflix’s tell-all documentary series “Harry & Meghan” about how the royal family has been handling the conflict.
He revealed on Thursday that “well, they’re astonished by it all.” The only remaining question is whether they will have an interview to refute the allegations or whether they will deprive Harry and Meghan of their titles.
The author of “Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War Between the Windsors” told us that “there was never any hope of it,” despite the fact that many people believed the royal family and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would patch fences following Queen Elizabeth II’s passing on September 8.
The main issue, according to someone who had dinner with Charles earlier this week and told Bower, is that Charles despises conflict and prefers to avoid it.
He continued, “But I don’t think he’ll be able to stay out of it.” The estranged royals provided an intimate peek into their lives since the start of their widely publicized affair in “Harry & Meghan.”
The couple, who have two children, Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 18 months, discussed how challenging it has been for Markle, 41, to be a member of the royal family as a biracial woman throughout the docuseries.
Markle, who was raised by a black mother and a white father, claims that before relocating to the UK, she was never treated like a black woman. The former “Suits” actress added on the program, “At that time, I wasn’t thinking about how race played a part in all of this.” I truly didn’t give it much thought.
Being a minority and not being regarded as one from the start is completely different, Markle continued. “I’d say that now because they made it such a big deal when I got to the UK, people are highly conscious of my race. Prior to that, however, I wasn’t generally treated like a “black woman.” Therefore, I didn’t have that conversation.
The alleged racist treatment that Harry’s wife allegedly experienced at the hands of British tabloids was also blasted by the 38-year-old Harry in his criticism of the royal family.
“But my wife had to go through that, so why should your girlfriend be treated any differently?’ said, other family members. Why should you be treated differently? Why is she entitled to protection?'” he said.
Harry screamed, “I answered, ‘The difference here is the race element.
In relation to the documentary series, the royal family has not commented.
