“Mainoo regularly visits Ghana, he is proud of his family roots and is keeping his options open, but a source close to the player suggested he’s been advised to lean toward England,” reported the Manchester Evening News.
The 18-year-old is yet to make a decision regarding his international future, preferring to concentrate on his development and progression at Manchester United.
Mainoo, born in Stockport, UK, to Ghanaian parents, has represented England at youth level throughout his career.
