Nipsey Hussle died four years ago today.

Lauren London took to Instagram on the anniversary of his death on Friday (March 31) to share an emotional tribute to her late boyfriend, which has become an annual tradition.

“I’ve been holding my breath for the entire month of March, knowing I have to face the memory of the day you transitioned,” she wrote alongside a black-and-white photo of Nipsey from his 2018 Rap-Up photo shoot. “Holding on to ancient wisdom, but the pain is pain, and nothing has ever been the same…”

“Eternal Being Ermias Asghedom, I Love You,” she added.

London, who is married to Nipsey and has a 6-year-old son named Kross, also shared sacred writing from the Baha’i faith about how the soul continues to progress after death.

During an interview with Angie Martinez’s IRL Podcast last year, the 38-year-old actress reflected on Nipsey’s tragic death and the “surreal” experience of attending his memorial service in April 2019 at L.A.’s Staples Center.

“I can honestly say that God was carrying me the entire time; that wasn’t me.” “It was all God,” London explained. “Because there was no other way… I didn’t want to put on any clothes. I was planning on wearing sweatpants.”

She also credited Diddy with giving her the strength she needed to get through that difficult time. “Puff drew me aside and said, ‘Look, boo. You’ve shown everyone what it’s like to hold a man down while also loving him. Show them what it looks like when everything crumbles.

That is your responsibility,’ she said.
On March 31, 2019, Nipsey Hussle was shot and killed outside his Marathon Clothing store in South Los Angeles. Eric Holder, the man convicted of killing Nipsey Hussle, was sentenced to 60 years to life in prison for the murder last month.

The Marathon is still going on. On “Raised Different,” off DJ Drama’s new album, I’m Really Like That!, a posthumous verse from the Crenshaw legend can be heard alongside Jeezy and Blxst.
