Back in May, a TikTok user published a video of a homeless man watching Lil Durk and J. Cole’s “All My Life” video on a projector, eliciting a flurry of social media reactions. Durk took to Instagram Live earlier this morning (June 1) to reveal that he sought for and found the man in question, showering him with needed resources as a token of appreciation.

“So the homeless guy who was playing ‘All My Life’ in the tent, I found him,” the Chicago performer explained. “I’m going to pull up on him.” I booked him a hotel room since you never know what people are going through.”

Durk then addressed the individual, who identified himself as Pedro. “Look, you were watching the video… you know who I am.” Thank you very much. I secured you a place for 30 days, I’m going to offer you a couple dollars, a gift card, and a phone simply for showing support.”

“All My Life” was the lead single from Durk’s eighth studio album, Almost Healed, a 21-song collection featuring Alicia Keys, Juice WRLD, Future, 21 Savage, Kodak Black, and others. According to Hits Daily Double, the project is expected to sell between 125,000 and 150,000 album-equivalent copies in its first week, putting the rapper at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 behind deluxe editions of Taylor Swift’s Midnights.

Durk released a new video for “Sad Songs” from Almost Healed on Wednesday (May 31), a heartbreaking track in which he professes his love for on-again, off-again significant other India Royale. “I can’t say it enough, I’m sorry,” he raps. “I told you the stories, and you ain’t explain it enough, I said I’m sorry.” Watch Durk’s exchange with Pedro and the “Sad Songs” clip below.
