Have you ever heard of the saying “love at second sight”? If not, Ademide and Oyekanmi’s heartwarming tale is a reminder not to give up on love just because you didn’t feel an instant connection at first glance.

Their love story took a charming turn during a bowling game where Cupid’s arrow found its mark the second time they crossed paths. Ademide left a lasting impression on Oyekanmi, sparking his curiosity to learn more about her. Their bond deepened when Ademide, after losing a bet, treated Oyekanmi to a delicious home-cooked meal, sealing his affection.

Oyekanmi orchestrated a romantic proposal, pouring his heart out to the woman who had captured his heart (and taste buds), asking her to spend forever by his side. With joy overflowing, she said “Yes,” and their journey towards forever began. Their proposal photos radiate pure love, and we couldn’t be happier for them.

Our love story began with a simple introduction, nothing extraordinary. It was during a hectic exam period when our paths first crossed, marked by what became my amusing nickname, the “sleepy giant.” Our next encounter, however, was more memorable. A family outing for bowling ignited our competitive spirits. Ever the gentleman, I offered to cover the expenses, but she playfully declined to share her account details.

Despite the distance of 370 miles between us back in Glasgow, I couldn’t shake off the feeling she left me with. Months passed, and fate presented me with a choice: accept a job in my current city or one just a short 20-minute drive from her. You can probably guess which option I chose. Love has a funny way of influencing our decisions, doesn’t it?

From that point on, it was an exhilarating journey. Let me tell you, this lady’s driving skills are not for those who easily get nervous. With her just 15 miles away, I seized every chance to be with her. Whether it was scheduling haircuts in her neighborhood, organizing dates, or venturing into new cities, I was determined to spend time with her. What was meant to be a two-hour visit often turned into an entire day spent together. We could simply sit in the car and chat endlessly. We didn’t need any specific activity; being in each other’s company was all that mattered.

I made a bet and won, and as my prize, I requested a homemade meal. She delighted me with smoky jollof rice, spicy suya, and perfectly fried plantains. That meal stole not just my heart, but my stomach too. Within three months of our first encounter, I had a strong feeling (which I shared with her) that she was the one I wanted to spend my life with. However, she played hard to get. After much persuasion, I finally asked her to be my partner, and she happily accepted. Like any couple, we’ve experienced our share of ups and downs. Despite her occasional quirks, I wouldn’t trade her for anyone else. We are truly meant for each other. After months of planning and enduring some stressful moments, I dropped to one knee and proposed to her in the rainy, chilly UK weather. And to my delight, she said YES!
