Luke Shaw, a Manchester United defender, has signed a new four-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until June 2027.
The 27-year-old joined the club from Southampton in 2014 and is expected to stay for the foreseeable future.
“I’ve grown tremendously as a person and as a player since moving to Manchester all those years ago; I know what it takes to succeed at a club like this,” Shaw said.
“I joined this incredible club nine years ago, and I’m thrilled to be staying.”
Shaw has been in excellent form this season under manager Erik Ten Hag, appearing in 36 games across all competitions, scoring one goal and assisting six others.
He has appeared in 249 games for Manchester United.
“We’re just getting started with the manager and his coaching staff. We’ve had some success this season, but we want a lot more,” Shaw added.
“There’s a fantastic opportunity to create something special here, and I’m willing to go to any length to be a part of it.”
