Meta Platforms has put a temporary hold on recruitment within its artificial intelligence team after recently hiring over 50 researchers and engineers, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.

In a statement shared with Reuters, a company spokesperson explained that the pause is part of internal restructuring and budget planning rather than a freeze on growth.

“All we’re doing is some basic organizational planning—setting up a strong structure for our new superintelligence projects after bringing new talent on board and carrying out our yearly budgeting and planning,” the spokesperson said.
